THE PURPOSE OF LIFE

This is a follow-up post to 'Life's Purpose'. I know that most people will have their own opinion about what the purpose of life is. I also know that some people think that this is the only life we will have, while others feel that there is something else after this life. What you choose to believe about what comes after this life probably has a lot of influence on what you believe the purpose of this life is. That being said, I think there is one thing we can all agree on, and that thing is 'PROGRESS'.

Progress to me simply means refining something or some technique to make it better than it previously was. One of the definitions in the dictionary states" a movement toward a goal or to a further or higher stage". That's what the purpose of life is. To evolve into something better than what we are now, or were 1000 years ago.

You can prove this by looking at nature (of which we are a part of and not separate from). Everything in nature (possibly with the exception of humans) evolves naturally into something more viable than it previously was. Survival of the fittest is based on the ability to transform according to the environment around you. This could be any type of environment, physical, mental, or whatever is perceived. The things that can't adapt can't continue to exist. We should take heed to this as we are not trying to adapt to our environment, which was here before us and has a lot more intelligence than us, we humans are trying to make our environment adapt to us.

So there it is, THE PURPOSE OF LIFE. Who knew? How could something so simple be the reason why all of this exists? Maybe all of this exists because of simplicity, and exist it has until we came along. Now everything seems so complicated. Well it's not complicated. It's following the same simple procedure that it has always followed, and that's based on an intelligence where this thing exists so that another thing can exist, an intelligence that has built-in checks and balances, an intelligence that replaces those things that are not as efficient (or that hinders the progress of the whole) with something better, an intelligence based on PROGRESS.

Are you living in accord with the purpose of life? Are you working toward a higher stage for yourself and all that is around you? If not, you should be, we all should be, or we all may be replaced.
